I love this set. It might not be perfect, but it's pretty damn solid. The build is one of the best playset builds I've seen, looking great on display and great for play too. The figure selection is good too — it includes all the figures relevant to the scene, and the only characters missing based on the scene would be two more Royal Guards, but I don't really think it's a grievous omission.

It has been way to long waiting for this set. I got the Palpatine's arrest set back in 2012, and this adds so much to my Star Wars Collection. First, the minifigures: Emperor Palpatine: I love the new torso design, as well as the leg print. The new faces are great for Sidious, and the skin color is so much better than the grey that had been used previously. My only issue with this figure is the cape. It's so flimsy and soft, unlike the capes from 2014, which were firmer, and more rigid to a position. Overall 4/5 Darth Vader: Oh. My. Gosh. The helmet is two parts. First time ever LEGO, and you got it spot on. This has been something that needed to happen for so long now, and it's finally happened! The face is awesome, so exact to Sebastian Shaw's appearance at the end of Return of the Jedi. The torso and legs are the same as the Star Destroyer last year. Again though... the cape... Overall, 5/5 (Helmet makes up for the cape) Luke Skywalker: Why wasn't this Luke released in Ewok Village? I mean, his tunic wasn't folded down on Endor, only towards the end of his duel with Vader. Anyways, the minifigure is beautiful. The faces are perfect for Mark Hamill, and the tunic is amazingly printed. 5/5 Imperial Guard. These are nothing special, practically being the same as the ones in the Death Star Troopers from 2014. Again though... the capes. 3/5 The set: Doorway/bridge thing: The door is very nice, i like the design, though I have to wonder, why is it straight, instead of something like the lift tube it actually was in the movie? The bridge is nice, but it could use some railings. 4/5 Main Section/Throne level: Probably the best part of the set. I love the new design for Palpatine's Throne, and the stickers... awesome. I really like the new window parts, and the print, it really looks like the windows on the Death Star. The energy, blue glow things, i have no idea what they're supposed to be, are really well done. 5/5 The other two parts of this build seem kind of out of place, especially the pit in which Vader is supposed to throw Palpatine. For the most part though, these two builds each rank well. Catwalk 4/5, pit 3/5 Overall rating: 36/45

This is a great set. It manages to be both great to look at and full of playability! The different areas of the set really capture the mood of the movie, and the very detailled minifigures add to the accuracy of the set. It has a lot of play features that kids love... Well if you let your kids play with it!

This set allows fans to recreate and play out the scene in the movie when Darth Vader/Anakin surprises the Emperor and throws him over the bridge. The set will also look great in a LEGO Star Wars display or collection.

Remember I said I don't like playsets… Oooooo, I've changed my mind because doorway issues aside, this is actually a great set. It's been designed really well to recreate the location (except the door) and add in features that pull directly from the narrative which is the right way to do it. For a static set, you'll definitely get plenty of play-time out of this, we've already done the final duel with four Elves in tow and Farran's been thrown down the reactor more times than he'd care to recount.

This is one of the more difficult sets to really rate once it's all said and done. There aren't a whole lot of minifigs, but two of them are outstanding, one is good, and two are available in battlepacks. There are some really nice parts, but it's hard to say that you get your full money's worth. There are some nice playset features, but they don't make that much sense in the scope of the set. [...] Ultimately, what every licensed set should do is get you to remember what the set is based on. This set does that incredibly well, and that's worth a boost.
