First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter

This set is one of the more fun ones I have put together in recent memory. Instructions were good as always, Scale works well with other Lego sets and I love the red color in the set. The Tie fighter is solid enough build for flying and playing with the other spaceships, unlike the special edition one. That said, I still like my Poe's X-wing more. A+ for Lego on this one. more less

This set is a little pricey. $70 would have been a much better price. The build it great, though, and looks amazing! I also appreciate the room for two pilots in such a small cockpit. I like the figures in this set too! more less

Sometimes, a set is greater than the sum of its parts, and this feels like one of those times. Once you get the figures seated, the set simply looks great. It's thicker, but it's hard to tell if that's how it is supposed to be or not. The new pilots are great, Commander Sharpie and his silly hat have use, and you want more of the technician. If the price goes down, there's a great parts set here that we'd likely want more of, and I have a feeling that these sets will show up in a lot of displays. more less

Put simply, this is easily the best (non UCS) TIE fighter LEGO have produced to date, the build was enjoyable and the finished product looks the part too; I have to wonder if the UCS TIE really looks £100 better, or if it's just £100 bigger. This set is also very AFOL-friendly with the bricks going on details rather than ‘playspace' and features. It's a set I enjoyed from start to finish, and which will keep delivering long after it's broken down. more less

75101 First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter is a superlative set, not just for excellent minifigs like the pilots but for the main model itself. Aside from my well-known love affair with Rey's Speeder, this may actually be my favorite set from the first wave of Force Awakens sets released last September. That's saying a lot, with iconic fan favorites like the X-wing and Millennium Falcon to compete against. more less

What I love about Star Wars sets is how you really get what you pay for. I wanted a spaceship and dang, I got a cool spaceship. The new TIE Fighter is a great set. Sure, the red stripe isn't perfect and it would've been really nice to have gotten a more important character as a minifig in this, but honestly, I feel like I got my money's worth. more less

75101 First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter was not a set I was particularly excited about when I first saw the box image, but now that I have built it and compared it with others in the new range, it has emerged as one of the best. The colour scheme and level of detail on the starfighter is fantastic, as are the four minifigures included. more less
