This is the 3rd year I've bought these for my kids. They are the coolest advent calendars! I try to purchase them no later than the 1st of November, because they either sell out or go up in price. This is the 1st wrapped Christmas gift my kids get. I give them to them the night before December 1st or that morning, depending on if it's school or not, because I like for them to be able to open each day up and have time to build their item for the day.
Every year, LEGO comes out with a new Star Wars Advent Calendar filled with exclusive minifigures and other small LEGO sets, and this new calendar doesn't disappoint. We are obviously very fond of Snow Chewbacca, but there are a lot of cool minifigures, vehicles, and small sets for kids to assemble and collect with this Advent Calendar, and it's a fun surprise to open up one of the calendar's doors each day to see what you're getting. It's a fun and buildable Christmas countdown that gives kids something they can play with long after the holiday season, and it will definitely appeal to Star Wars collectors who will enjoy the special holiday-themed pieces.
I very much appreciate the lego advent calender's every year. For this set I love that the set brings back ships/characters from the original trilogy. I also like that Lego takes some of the minifigures from expensive sets and puts them into this affordable set. Lego also added two new exclusive minifiigures, a new protocol droid and a festive Chewbacca. The one dissapointment I have about this set is that it includes nothing that has to do with the new star wars movie the Force Awakens. Knowing that was the big Star wars thing that happened at the end of last year.
Well that's it for this year's LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar and it's been an interesting line up. Minus a few mediocre builds the majority of the builds were fun, clever and well designed and with Chewie to end on how can anyone complain.
All in all, I think this Star Wars set has been top notch. There's been some amazing models (and some not so amazing ones), lots of space craft, lots of minifigures, and a whole lot of fun building them. My favourite model has to be the Slave I from Day 1. What a way to start it off! This has been my favourite advent calendar to build this year, and easily my favourite for the past few years as well.
