One of the best space crafts I have ever seen. It is sleek, it has texture, and above all it has play ability. The bombing mechanism is perfect for the build. It is very sturdy and would look beautiful displayed or just for playing and bombing storm troopers.
The design is not a rehash, has very enjoyable build, more accurate, offers good value for money and contains great selection of minifigures. A must buy specially for new collectors.
Definitely a solid set. The build itself looks great and is very accurate. Like 70612, the box art makes the front section look oversized, but the proportions in real life (and on the back) are better. The playability works well. I think there isn't actually a whole lot but I find the amount and quality appropriate for the size of this set.
75172 Y-wing Starfighter is an excellent model that is absolutely the best rendition of the source material to date. Considering the rapid pace of expansion within the Star Wars universe right now, it may actually be a while before the LEGO Group gets around to releasing another version of this set – so anyone remotely interested in it acquire the Y-wing should do so while they can.
This set is one of the rare sets I would have gladly paid full price for. The price is very reasonable for what you get, and the price/part ratio is well under the magical $.10 mark. I highly recommend adding this Y-Wing to your Rebel Fleet!
At the very least, it's swooshable! On top of the impressive build and fun minifigs to add to your collection, the play features are enjoyable. This set has some nice parts, but if you keep it together it will also look great on display. It was a set I was eying, but had not committed to obtaining, but now, having it in hand, it is very impressive and holds its own against other Star Wars ships.
This is a stellar Y-wing — easily the best redesigned version released since the rather awful original packaged with Darth Vader's TIE Advanced in 1999, and it might even rise to my favorite LEGO Star Wars set from Rogue One so far. With excellent details, a really fun bomb bay play feature, solid minifigure selection (excluding the stormtrooper), and nearly 700 pieces for only $60, I can't recommend this set highly enough.
