Nice quick build, love the detail. Wouldn't change a thing. Nice piece for the collection.
It's only on-screen for a short time, but if you want your LEGO Star Wars collection to be complete, then you'll need the Quadjumper. Plus, you can make it explode just like in the movie The Force Awakens. This set is a great way to collect minifigures of the movie's main characters, and with its stud shooters and exploding feature, it will also be a fun way for fans to play out the desert scene from the movie or make up their own Star Wars adventures.
75178 is unlike anything which has come before, a completely new ship building experience rather than an incremental improvement. I had underestimated how delightful that would be. Considering the LEGO Group's propensity for remakes, I am sure there will be another version of this craft, but considering its limited screen time that should be a few years away yet. Based on that, the good value, play potential and display quality, I heartily recommend this set.
I think this set has done better than I anticipated. I did not like it when it was first revealed, but I think it has shown itself to be pretty good. I like the detailed build, and the minifigures are sure to appeal to many. Playability is also alright, but I wish the price was lower. It just is too small to feel like good value, especially since sets at this price point generally have pretty good value (like 70612 and 70905).
This set will doubtless divide opinion. On the one hand, 75178 Jakku Quadjumper looks marvellous, is packed with play features and includes some very desirable minifigures. However, the absence of new figures is disappointing for those who have collected most of the existing sets and it is difficult to justify the price of £54.99 in the UK given the size of the model. The US price of $49.99 is more reasonable but even then I am not certain that the vehicle is sufficiently interesting to entice many fans.
A handy little ship that is quite playable thanks to its quirky play features but lacks the emotional connection due to its abrupt demise in the movie.
