Luke Skywalker's X-wing Fighter

I've seen many reviews claim that, while good for the money, the 2018 iteration was better. However, I'm inclined to disagree. Comparing both versions to an actual x-wing model, I'd say the 2021 version nails it. The 2018 model was expensive and felt very clunky. Overall, I'd say this newer model is the best x-wing we've ever gotten from lego. It's almost half the price of previous versions, nails the proportions, and has great figure selection! 10/10 set from me. more less

I mean...it's an X-Wing. I honestly try and critique every set I do, but I'm having trouble really buckling down a thesis on this. It's just...fine. I don't like the stickers, and I don't really see the necessity of them when we've had so many great X-Wings before without stickers. more less

As a straight one-to-one comparison, it's hard to argue that these two new versions of the iconic X-wing and TIE fighter are inherently superior in design terms versus their larger predecessors from 2018. But there is much to love about both, not least of which is the radically improved S-foil mechanism on the X-wing. But perhaps what makes both of these sets actually great — shaping and scale issues notwithstanding — is their lower price point. more less

75301 Luke Skywalker's X-wing Fighter has achieved the impossible. Despite containing far fewer elements than any previous minifigure-scale X-wing Starfighter since 2002, this model includes brilliant functionality and detail which actually improves upon past designs in certain regards. The proportions are almost perfect and the upgraded S-foil mechanism is ingenious, providing outstanding play value. Some compromises are present, including the elevated Astromech droid and unsightly pieces immediately behind the droid. Nevertheless, I think these adjustments are excusable given the price of £44.99 or $49.99 which represents great value. The price has actually halved in the UK and several European countries, when compared with 75218 X-wing Starfighter, but the quality has remained extraordinarily impressive! more less

If you want a highly detailed and accurate rendition of the rebel ship, you might be better off hunting down 2018's 75218 X-wing Starfighter – but if you're simply looking for an entertaining build, desirable minifigures and a classic Star Wars icon at a price that won't break the bank, 75301 Luke Skywalker's X-Wing Fighter comes highly recommended. more less
