Elite Praetorian Guard

Once I saw an Elite Praetorian Guard on a Star Wars marketing poster, I knew I wanted this LEGO version to go with my K2-SO model. This was really easy to put together and took about 30-45 minutes total. The instructions are clear, and I had about 5 extra pieces left over, as you usually get with most LEGO sets. I think my only issue is the spear holding pose. You have to decide whether you want him/her to hold it in one piece or two pieces, because it will require readjusting of the hands. Otherwise, the final pose looks like the box. — SUMMARY — I hope these new guards will be as cool as they look when 'The Last Jedi' comes out. Recommended! more less

I've been a fan of constraction since the early 2000s, so I decided to buy this awesome-looking set (definitely the highlight and probably the best set of this current wave). The torso build is interesting, however this vertical swing gimmick looks a bit awkward to pose unless his weapon is added for a perfect but average playability. Overall, the design/build is pretty solid aesthetically, and I'd highly recommend if you are a kid or AFOL (I'm an AFOL btw). more less

It's an easy build for kids that yields plenty of opportunities for post-build play. Fans can pretend to bring to life Snoke's Elite Praetorian Guards to recreate scenes from The Last Jedi. The figure is also highly poseable thanks to ball joint pieces for articulation that makes it equally fun to display in different battle poses. more less

On the whole, I surprisingly like this set. I didn't like it when it was first revealed, but it has risen to be my favorite TLJ CCBS figure so far. It's still not perfect, though, but is quite good when compared to the other lacklustre TLJ CCBS figures. On the whole it's a good figure, though maybe a little bit expensive. more less

I am surprised to report that 75529 Elite Praetorian Guard is my favourite of the four new Buildable Figures! This is due in part to my love for the character design in the movie but can be further attributed to the extensive articulation which allows you to create an impressive range of realistic poses. The motion of the shoulders is particularly vital in this regard as joints within the torso allow the entire shoulder assembly to move back and forth, just as we might use our pectoral muscles to shift the position of our shoulder. more less

The Elite Praetorian Guard has a lot going for him, from a great selection of uncommon pieces to a fairly solid design, thanks to the robe. While the action feature is underwhelming, the biggest drawback I can see is that he's not an iconic character like Rey of Chewbacca, making him less desirable to pick up. But he's still a great CCBS build and worthwhile for any Star Wars collector. more less
