I love this set. It's everything a 7 year-old me would want and more. It kicks the Kenner playset's butt. So many more features and details. And it won't stain the carpet with ecto-plasm.
This is an absolutely fantastic Lego model. Such a great build and so detailed. The Firehouse is the centerpiece of my modular building set. I can say, this is by far my favorite Lego model ever. Don't let the price put you off because it really is worth every penny. Well done Lego!!

This set has easily risen to the top of my favorites list. While the price tag may seem inhibitive at first, the set itself is actually a great value ($0.09 per brick). It provides hours of building entertainment, and is impressively detailed. The Minifigures are well done and fun. The set looks great when completed and fits well in any cityscape. The only downsides are the low Minifigure to brick ratio, and the lack of an aesthetically pleasing design on the back wall. This is a great set that I highly recommend.
Fans of the movies will definitely enjoy building the LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827). While three sides of the outside of the building is pretty accurate, there's not much else to see especially in the back which is the probably the worst part of the entire set. The minifigure selection is pretty much perfect with pretty much all the main characters from the first movie being featured, minus Gozer and Walter Peck. Hopefully we'll see them in the future to complete the full lineup.
Wow! I expected this one to be my biggest Lego challenge but wow. I really enjoyed this set. It was worth the money and I'm currently trying to figure out a good way to display it. If you like Legos and like Ghostbusters this set is definitely for you. All the subtle throwbacks is awesome. Only two things I wish were better. Having to put stickers on some of the pieces. Cause I wanted them to be perfect. And the hinge system that opens and closes the side of the building. I don't feel they line up as well as I'd like. Wish they were more sturdy.
This set is going to be a must-have for LEGO and Ghostbusters fans. It looks really cool and has a lot of fun features, whether a builder chooses to keep it on display or play out ghost-busting adventures with it. Fans will like that it comes with minifigures of all the main characters from the movie, so they can have fun playing out the movie's plot. There are a lot of pieces, so you'll need to set aside some time and have a lot of patience to complete it, but once it's built, this is a fantastic set with a lot for Ghostbusters fans to appreciate.
If you're living in the '80's and a HUGE Ghostbusters SUPERFAN, this set is perfect for you. The exterior details of the building are accurate and interesting but sparse if you're looking at it from any other angle than the front. It really shines on the inside though with a ton of details taken from the two Ghostbusters films. The minifig cast is top-notch and is the best versions of the Ghostbusters team ever made. For the LEGO collector, builder, and aficionado, there are a lot of nice little builds and you might even learn a thing or two from building some of the interior elements; the way that Egon's exam table connects to the floor still blows my mind.
If you are a Ghostbusters fan this is a dream come true, but it's for a niche market and as I said it's very hard to justify the set for this price. With a family I struggle to justify spending £50 on a LEGO set, but spending over half my mortgage bill is just not going to happen. If you're fortunate enough to have the money to buy this, then it could be your flagship set but at the same time ask yourself – could the money be better spent on something else? In my view yes it can…
This set is a dream come true for fans of Ghostbusters that even the exterior colour can't spoil. I find it remarkable that LEGO should release a set of this size, cost and complexity to appeal to what seems like a relatively small niche – AFOLs with a love of Ghostbusters and with enough disposable income to stump up the £274.99 / US$349.99 asking price. I suspect that some fans of Modular Buildings might also be tempted in regardless of whether they have an interest in the Ghostbusters franchise, and they hopefully won't be disappointed given the interior detail in particular.
There's no doubting this is an excellent build with stunning details, enhanced by the stickered pieces - many of which will be useful in other MOCs. It's got loads of great new parts and is a superb parts pack, if you want loads of useful Medium Stone Grey parts like small plates, bricks and tiles (172 1x2 tiles alone!) or SNOT bricks. Of course there is also a wide and voluminous array of Dark Red bricks and plates provided, the highest quantity being 1x4 bricks: there are 108. Special mention must also go to the 91 Dark Stone Grey 2x4 tiles; greatly appreciated by me!
Overall, this set is fantastic. It's full of great details the sort of that adult fans would put into their own creations. It has interesting techniques for minifig-scale items, and just feels complete. I appreciate that with the immense size of this set, very little felt repetitive during the build process, even with the tile/modified bricks with studs on the side design for the windows. I appreciate the continuity with the Ecto-1 fitting perfectly inside.
At a cost of US $350, this is a very large and very expensive set. If you're a fan of modular buildings, you'll probably love this one too. Even though its technically not compatible with other modulars, it's not hard to just sit them next to each other and use the gap as a small alley-way. Being such a large set, there are so many little features and the designers have paid great attention to detail everywhere (except the back of the building!). There are doors and drawers everywhere, and plenty of things to play with.
