When i first wrote a review for this product, i was mostly upset about the condition of the box. I DO NOT man the shipping box, i mean the ACTUAL box with the Lego Logo on it. If you collected these guys, you would have cried, and that is EXACTLY why i was upset. However, after giving it to my uncle for Christmas anyways and apologizing PROFUSELY for its condition, i have heard from my aunt that this had inspired him to stay building Lego sys again like he used to as a child. His collector items are still packaged, but he buys others to put together, which is something he hasn't done in years. In a way, this damaged box awoken his inner child!! That is why i am raising my review from 3 to 4 stars.
The product is great.None of the pieces were missing .The best part was that once you have built it you can do lots of stuff after. I have raced it with my the other cars sometimes the Ferrari wins the spectacular race. After the race I put the drivers on the podium and give their cups.
The set is very recognizable to its real-life counterpart. The stickers really bring out the set as a whole and is pretty much needed for this vehicle. Fans of sports car racing will most likely pick this set up as it makes a great display piece.
Playability is great, especially if you have more cars, the colours are great, and the stickers are worth it. There are some nice parts, but where it gets let down is the shape of the car. It's just a little too blocky for a Ferrari. It just needs to be wider!
Very good representation of the actual car, easily converted to road going version from race.
If you're an auto-head and/or a Ferrari fan, this set and the Speed Champions theme is probably a godsend. If you're a casual motoring enthusiast like me, there's still a lot to like with this LEGO model and is a worthy addition to any LEGO City (despite its larger than usual scale) needing a little bit of motoring flair.
In my view this is the best of the four. It's hard to pinpoint exactly why but I suspect the mass of stickers helps, even though I don't normally apply them. Whether I'll have this view in two years time when they may have peeled and left the model in a mess remains to be seen. The designers have done a pretty good job of replicating the look of the real car and it's recognisable as what it's supposed to be which, at this scale, is an achievement in itself.
