Omnic Bastion

We had a lot of fun building, playing and basically collecting this Blizzard exclusive limited edition 182 piece set. We really enjoyed how Lego has captured Bastion. He looks like he stepped right out of the video game. Plus, we love that he can swivel at the waist, move his arms and features a small sub machine gun in the right arm. more less

This set is a teaser, an early exclusive set which I do not expect will be part of the ongoing LEGO Overwatch series. While the build is interesting, and the resulting model is extremely poseable, and full of character, I find it hard to recommend it as a purchase for anyone but diehard completionists, and Overwatch fans, for whom the exclusive adhesive labels, as well as the box art will make the purchase special. For the LEGO elements themselves, the set is a bit too expensive for my liking, and I find myself concerned that when we finally see the full range of Overwatch sets that they might also be ambitiously priced. more less

Overall, the first ever LEGO Overwatch set does not disappoint. Bastion stands over 4 inches tall, with Ganymede perched atop his shoulder plate. It remains to be seen if and how LEGO will make the character at minifigure scale, but at this small mecha-scale, Bastion works well and can be posed in many different positions. [...] At nearly 14 cents per piece, the set seems a little overpriced if it were a typical LEGO product. But as a limited Blizzard exclusive and the first ever LEGO Overwatch set ever produced, the cost seems more justifiable (even with a few stickers). I am personally looking forward to see what else LEGO has planned, based on this first entry in the Overwatch line. more less

As an Overwatch fan, this is a must have. We have all shelled out a lot more for other overpriced Overwatch merchandise so this is actually not too far of a stretch. As a LEGO fan, the amount you're paying for is the exclusivity. As this can only be bought from the Blizzard online store, they get to set the price which I feel that they could have done a lot more for the fans. more less

Overall Bastion is a decent representation to his look in the game. The Omnic Crisis was an important event in Overwatch lore so I can see why LEGO and Blizzard used this particular skin for this set. Obviously you can change the colors and parts to the skin of your liking. I'm actually more partial to the Stealth skin myself. The build itself is pretty easy and the posability of it is actually not too bad. The only thing that I wish LEGO had done was make it transform to its Sentry mode. You can kind to transform it somewhat by just moving the joints into place but without taking pieces off the build, you won't be able to do it. In reality, it looks like a jumbled mess. more less

Omnic Bastion bodes well for the upcoming Overwatch theme. A satisfying build and a fun model that would look great sat on a desk or shelf add up to a great overall package, whether you're a fan of the game or simply a fan of the brick. more less

Although this set doesn't include a minifigure, it's nearer to minifigure-scale than the recently revealed version of Bastion. This Blizzard exclusive set maybe smaller scale than that, but it still does a great job of capturing the look of the character. I like the little base, it isn't needed for the set to stand but does make it more of a display piece. It's a shame the name plate uses a sticker, and that the white LEGO logo is slightly misaligned with its yellow outline. I'm not sure if it's worth the money but it's still a decent little set and if you're a fan of the game, a must have. more less

75987 Omnic Bastion is an impressive set. The model looks fantastic when compared with the video game character and offers extensive articulation which is ideal for display. However, the absence of a transformation function is disappointing. It feels almost as though the model was originally intended to transform as its arms can fold up neatly but this feature was abandoned during the design process. Furthermore, this set costs £22.50 or $25.00. Determining the value of exclusive items is often difficult but this example seems rather expensive, especially since it features stickers instead of printed parts. I would therefore only recommend 75987 Omnic Bastion to existing fans of Overwatch, although it may also appeal to those who enjoy building robots and mechs. more less
