Whether it was the company or the beer I have to admit I really liked this build and would highly recommend it to both AFOL and children alike. Looks like another shelf is needed to display!
The set itself has some neat features like the portal beast and the various Easter eggs inside the room. Even though there are quite a few of stickers for the tile pieces, they do provide some hints of what we can possibly expect to see in the film and are a welcome addition.
Detail is amazing especially with set adding furniture to the mixture. The creature coming from the wall is awesome. Figures each have their own detail which is what we have seen in the movie trailer release. Playability wise it has the potential depending on the child/adult. If you're marvel fan in terms on comics then these added figures have expanded the possibilities of creating scenes using other marvel characters. I look forward to recreating those scenes. All and all it is a nice and welcomed addition to my collection.
but after seeing the Dr. Strange movie I knew that I had to have it! I love the mini figs. They're really detailed and similar to the characters in the movie! (Benedict Cumberbatch lego mini fig!?!) All of the details of the set are fabulous and pretty accurate to the movie. (i.e. references to the library, mystical objects, letting the mini figures fly and fight, and a monster coming out, the window) Not sure if I'm just going to display this as is, build a house/building for it, or add it on to another building. But I love it and really glad I got it after seeing the movie!

There's no doubt in anyone's mind that this set is one of a kind. It's obvious on many levels. Whether this is enough to get you to purchase it is another matter. I reckon it's pretty collectible though, and certainly for some of the elements.
The design of the Sanctum's logo and the portal beast was very impressive. [...] Can't stress enough that we want more minifigures!
In a bigger set, or more sets, there could have been a lot done with the material. As it sits, this seems more like the start of an idea that needs a lot more parts and efforts to build on. I'm curious to see how the place works in the movie, and what you could turn it in to… but right now, outside that fantastic monster, this is mostly filler parts. Still, this set only costs $30, has three unique figs, and delivers a whole lot of parts for it.
This set is quite unique in many ways: it's the only set devoted to the upcoming Marvel movie, it was released 3 months before the movie's release, and it's a superhero set that includes no jeeps or jets. We still don't know much about what is actually going on in this scene, but trying to evaluate it from the LEGO fan's point of view I can hardly remember any set as unusual as this one. I can clearly see that it is not targeted at children of 8-12 years, but rather at adult fans; the set will look cool on a shelf in your living room, and the minifigures are a perfect addition to your collection.
I'm extremely pleased that we got a Doctor Strange set, and minifig, because of the upcoming movie, and the set has pretty much everything I hoped for. Between the messy room, the Window to the Worlds, and the tentacle monstrosity causing trouble, the set looks great. It is a nice little scene to display with the characters.
This is a very unusual Marvel Super Heroes set but it is thoroughly impressive. The minifigures are excellent and the Sanctum Sanctorum itself is brilliantly detailed, with some intricately designed furniture and a number of easter eggs spread around the room.
