I think I got my moneys worth out of this set. There's a play feature in every module of it, and you can combine it with set 79011 for a larger battle. The minifigures are absolutely fantastic.
Let's be honest. The main draw to this set is the Figures. But oh man are they not fantastic. Radagast, Azog, the Necromancer. Even a nice statue and a decent Orc. Yet another Gandalf was neither a pro nor a con. He's integral to the scene, I just wish it was possible to see some variety in him. The set itself is a decent build. More than enough to keep one interested. Play features are numerous if at times strange. The finished product is fun if a little bland looking. It captures a courtyard of Dol Guldur nicely. In the end it's still a big grey wall. Better than the Black Gate, nowhere near the class of Helms Deep.
