I do like the set, I mainly build in Technic and this model is 90+% Technic, and importantly it looks good as a display piece on a shelf. The main downside I've found is the model as a whole is very light and so when you place it on a smooth surface (like a conservatory coffee table) you have to hold the base still to crank the handle.
As much as I had initial excitement when I first saw the release of the shark skin, the final result left me a little less enthusiastic. The color scheme isn't very exciting, and perhaps I missed the mystery of the movement, which I'd already discovered with the application of the first Koi Skin placement.
81001 Shark Skin is definitely my favourite of the four LEGO FORMA skins which have been created for 81000 Koi. Its colour scheme does not particularly stand out but it looks very realistic and features surprising detail when viewed at close range. I am equally satisfied with the swimming motion and the articulation of the pectoral fins is remarkably useful for creating dynamic displays.
With the movement of FORMA, perfect for that of a shark. The head is a little tricky to place on the skeleton, as you have double the sides back on itself, but once you have it connected, it looks great.
