I purchased this for my 7-year-old son, who had bought a few of the smaller Bionicle sets and had completed them within an hour or so. I was a bit concerned that this 693 piece set might be a bit over his head, but he completed it in about 5-6 hours spanning two days. He's now disassembled / reassembled it twice since then, and this remains one of his favorite toys. Though certainly not inexpensive, it seems to be a decent value compared to some of the other Lego products, and least when you compare price vs. entertainment value. One thing not touched on in the other reviews: our set was missing several long pieces, and I decided to contact Lego customer service rather than returning the entire thing since it was already pretty much put together. After supplying the part number(s) needed, Lego got us the missing pieces within about 3 business days, which I thought was quite fast and made my son happy. Overall, a great product and worth the investment.

It's fun to swoosh around, but ultimately for a non-bionicle fan it doesn't offer a lot at full price. At half price it's a steal!

Overall, the cons are pretty small, and the pros are pretty grand. The building process alone is worth it, though whether or not it's ~80 USD worth it is another story entirely. Remember that at almost 700 pieces, I'd say a good third of those are just pins and axles. Whether or not that's worth the price tag is up to you.
