Lego nerd and college student here. I bought this item with my own money and didn't get paid to write a review. The main reason that I bought this book was for the figure, and it does not disappoint. This is the only set that contains a yellow-lantern batman, and he comes with a soft spongy cape. I really like the yellow visor which looks very menacing compared to some of the other batman versions I own. The book itself is hard-cover and features some interesting tidbits about different batman sets throughout the ages as well as a bunch of photos. I gave the book to some family friends whose 6 year old child seemed to enjoy looking through it. Definitely recommended.
One thing I noticed about the book is that it is not a complete guide because there are some minifigures and sets that I did not see such as the Batman Zur-En-Arrh from SDCC 2014 or Atom from 2016 or Vixen from 2017. It also didn't show off the exclusive Bat-Pod (5004590) set from a few years ago. Even some previous versions of the Batmobile didn't show up. The book, however, does have some other SDCC exclusives like Shazam and Bizarro so I'm sure what the criteria for being in the book is.
DK really know how to best show off LEGO sets and minifigures as well as including interesting information about them. I like how the book shows off various versions of characters. Plus how it showcases some of the themes most impressive sets. The DC Super Heroes theme has been going for quite a while now, but the book does a decent job of balancing the past with more recently aspects of the theme, including The LEGO Batman Movie. I also enjoyed the brief behind-the-scenes section, as mentioned above I'd have loved to see it include a few additional pages. The exclusive minifigure is also a nice addition, there will those who pick the book up merely to get the minifigure, but take a moment flip through the book as it's an interesting look at one of the most varied LEGO play themes.
