I've grown up with LEGO since the mid-70's and I've seen plenty of ideas on how to build this and that, but this book puts so many building ideas into your head that you can't wait to get something started. Plenty of details on how to make roofs, walls, stained glass windows, special doors, and many other great ideas are shown throughout the book. Some pieces you may not have thought of using much at all might pop up in a totally different view to you. It will definitely make your next trip to a LEGO store brick wall more intriguing.
The LEGO Architecture Idea Book is perfect for experienced builders looking to add new details to their buildings, as well as for those searching for ways to recreate particular architectural details. It's also just a great book to flip through for inspiration in general, even if you're not working on a building. That being said, many of the ideas use rare pieces, making those builds possible only for those with extensive and diverse LEGO collections, which limits the audience somewhat.
All together, this book is a must buy for anyone who builds architecture. Honestly, I think it is a solid buy for any builder, as there are so many of these techniques that could be used in any genre.
The book does an amazing job of presenting Alice's impressive collection of architectural techniques. Although the book is basically a collection of images, the photography is great and clearly shows what can be done with LEGO elements. I like how there are little snippets of information, which offer more information about elements used or how there are put together. There are so many different ways to combine elements to create a multitude of styles of architecture. If you are an avid MOC builder or just starting out then the book has something for builders of all experience levels.
