My kids and I love Minecraft and my favorite mob is the chicken so buying this set was a no-brainer. The build was quick and easy and came together cleanly. There were no stickers and the set looks wonderful displayed on my desk. What's interesting is that some new bricks seem to have been developed to allow this model to be made to stand and to allow it to be made with SNOT (studs not on top). My only complaint is the green 1x2 bricks with the plus in the center (look at the pics of the upper arm) are unnecessary. Regular green 1x2 bricks could have been used to make the model look cleaner, but that is a minor complaint in an otherwise wonderful set. Enjoy and happy building!

Let's be honest, adult fans of LEGO don't always love Minecraft or the LEGO Minecraft theme. And that's OK. Not every theme needs to cater to the adults in the crowd along with its core audience of 6-12-year-olds. But we here at The Brothers Brick always advocate excellence in building, regardless of the theme. And the LEGO Minecraft Big Figs are excellent. They're amazingly accurate models, they're sturdy enough to withstand kid play, and they don't rely on any specialized elements apart from the accessories. This scale fits LEGO Minecraft perfectly. Now there's just one thing we're missing: some scale blocks to accompany them.
LEGO must be applauded for giving us something new, but the AFOL in me is not feeling fulfilled. I'm sure the series has been the subject of a few focus groups and therefore the market identified, but I don't think that market is me. This is one for Minecraft aficionados to consider but not an essential purchase for anyone else.
I think these three Minecraft sets contain some great universal pieces, although you only get the new pieces in rather small numbers. I recommend getting Steve for some good Dark Brown pieces and Alex for the Sand Green.
