I looked so forward to this set and I was not disappointed. The set was fun to put together and it looks just so fantastic! Detailing is awesome, printed pieces are the best. No stickers!! Figures are very detailed and I love that you can put them ALL in the sub or display on the stand. Maybe kids wont understand the set but us oldies that love legos sure get it. Thanks Lego for putting this neat set out.
The Yellow Submarine hold a special place in my heart, as it is a movie I grew up watching. And I was excited to see that someone was as excited for it to become a LEGO set almost as much as I was. I finally managed to get one, and boy, is it wonderful. It's a quick, simple, sturdy build, and I do enjoy the detail put into the Fab Four. One thing that I was surprised to see is that the Beatles have two faces: one smiling/mouth open, the other a neutral/smile, depending on the member. My only complaint in this entire set, is that Jeremy has a hole that goes straight through his head, which counters his movie counterpart who had no holes in his education.
A great set that would perfectly fit your living room's corner, specially if you are a Beatles fan.
The sub itself has a decent size to it along with the weight which makes it a great display piece. The colors are bright as it should be with the time period of the source material. The minifigures of the four Beatles as well as Jeremy are pretty accurate and are easily recognizable.
Fans of The Beatles who also like building with LEGO will really like being able to build the iconic vehicle from the movie and collecting all four of The Beatles' members as minifigures. This set will be a lot of fun for playing out scenes from the movie, but it also looks really cool on display as part of a Beatles fan's collection.
The Beatles' psychedelic movie of an undersea voyage may be an unusual subject for a LEGO set, but the model is remarkably well designed and fun to play with, and the figures look great. This set will tap into a much broader audience than traditional LEGO themes, and getting more people to pick up a LEGO set for the first time is always a great thing. Love is all you need, but if you're a Beatles fan, you'll want this too.
There are many more pieces of interest in this set and also some parts that come in healthy quantities, so it is a good (if a tad random) parts pack.
The submarine is bright and colourful, whimsical, solidly built, well designed, packed with lovely parts, without a sticker in sight and I can't really find any fault at all with it. The minfigures are faithful representations of the screen versions and are instantly recognisable as who they are supposed to be, so overall this is pretty much the perfect LEGO set. The fact that I do not like the source material has not dimmed my enthusiasm for it one bit.
