This is a perfect set not just for Beatles fans but for anyone who loves their music, the yellow submarine is iconic and I think the fan who designed this set and Lego have done a brilliant job in creating this model. The build took about 3 hours and is pretty straight forward, but it is a very enjoyable build at the same time, it's very colourful and there are more colours used which you don't see in the finished model, it's mainly built using yellow, amber and white pieces, however there are no stickers and every awesome bit of detail you see are all printed! This was one of the major factors in me getting this set because you get some really amazing printed pieces which I think not just Beatles fans would love but just Lego fans aswell, this set doesn't have any real playable features but it is meant to be a display model and looks really nice on a desk or maybe on a cd/vinyl cabinet :) The minifigs are fantastic and the detail is excellent and another reason I would highly recommend this set because they would be a great addition to anyone's minifigs collection! You also get a small buildable stand to display John, Paul, George and Ringo! You also get a figure of Jeremy which is a really nice inclusion :) All in all I would rate this 5/5 because I think it's good value for money, you get awesome printed bricks and the minifigs are fantastic! It is also a very nice display model :)
The Yellow Submarine hold a special place in my heart, as it is a movie I grew up watching. And I was excited to see that someone was as excited for it to become a LEGO set almost as much as I was. I finally managed to get one, and boy, is it wonderful. It's a quick, simple, sturdy build, and I do enjoy the detail put into the Fab Four. One thing that I was surprised to see is that the Beatles have two faces: one smiling/mouth open, the other a neutral/smile, depending on the member. My only complaint in this entire set, is that Jeremy has a hole that goes straight through his head, which counters his movie counterpart who had no holes in his education.
A great set that would perfectly fit your living room's corner, specially if you are a Beatles fan.
The sub itself has a decent size to it along with the weight which makes it a great display piece. The colors are bright as it should be with the time period of the source material. The minifigures of the four Beatles as well as Jeremy are pretty accurate and are easily recognizable.
Fans of The Beatles who also like building with LEGO will really like being able to build the iconic vehicle from the movie and collecting all four of The Beatles' members as minifigures. This set will be a lot of fun for playing out scenes from the movie, but it also looks really cool on display as part of a Beatles fan's collection.
The Beatles' psychedelic movie of an undersea voyage may be an unusual subject for a LEGO set, but the model is remarkably well designed and fun to play with, and the figures look great. This set will tap into a much broader audience than traditional LEGO themes, and getting more people to pick up a LEGO set for the first time is always a great thing. Love is all you need, but if you're a Beatles fan, you'll want this too.
There are many more pieces of interest in this set and also some parts that come in healthy quantities, so it is a good (if a tad random) parts pack.
The submarine is bright and colourful, whimsical, solidly built, well designed, packed with lovely parts, without a sticker in sight and I can't really find any fault at all with it. The minfigures are faithful representations of the screen versions and are instantly recognisable as who they are supposed to be, so overall this is pretty much the perfect LEGO set. The fact that I do not like the source material has not dimmed my enthusiasm for it one bit.
