Although we've seen some good sets during the holidays in the past, this year's set is probably one of the best produced so far. The “snow" pieces don't actually float but you can shake it around to somewhat simulate it. The drawer area is a good extra to put your little trinkets in.
This snowglobe looks even cuter than I expected. I didn't realize at the time of purchase that the base is a secret drawer.
This set looks nice as a Christmas decoration, and is a great value in terms of brick cost and build-time. It is also a cheap way to get a Santa Claus Minifigure. The only other alternative right now is to buy the City advent calendar, which costs a lot more. My favorite aspect of this set is great re-usability of the pieces that come with it. My only complaints are the stiffness of the drawer, and the poor functionality of the falling snow feature. Overall, I think this is a very good set, and I recommend buying one if you have been on the fence.
There isn't much to say about this set. The small, decorative LEGO Snow Globe looks great, has the added functionality of the drawer under the globe, and it's fairly cheap (or free!), so there isn't a lot that could be negative about it. It's a nice little gift for extra Christmas spirit!
One of the things that I like about this snow globe is that it is functional. Yes, the drawer compartment is a little bit small but it can still hold a couple of wedding rings or a necklace or even a handful of earrings. Basically it holds stuff. I know this is supposed to just be a representation of a snow globe but the 1×1 round white tiles accumulated at the bottom looks a little sad. Makes me want to seal up all the gaps and fill it up with water. This really a worth while set to own even if it is just for the parts.
This is an imaginative set, the likes of which LEGO has not produced before. Real snow globes are filled with liquid thus facilitating a snowy display as the white glitter inside descends slowly back to ground after being shaken. I do not recommend attempting to fill this one with water, though, so you will have to make do with it behaving more like a rattle. Nevertheless, it will still look great on your mantle piece.
