My daughter and son each had a Lego advent calendar this year (he had the City version) and the Friends one was terribly disappointing. The pieces most days were stupid accessories. One day she simply got a 5-piece box for a squirrel, the next day she only got the squirrel. Even the piece count is inflated because on one day she got a huge bag of the teeny tiny bows that go in the characters' hair. And to prove my point beyond doubt: on Dec. 24th, the City had SANTA AND HIS SLEIGH, the other one had a stupid little present, she didn't even get Santa! Lame.It is telling that many of the more positive reviews here lead me to believe that the purchaser had not even opened it yet and/or gave it as a gift so didn't see the look of disappointment on the child's face each day like I have. I agree, it is a great idea but lame execution by Lego.

What a wonderful winter scene. While some days were somewhat disappointing, when it all is presented together, it is quite lovely. I am please with the pieces and the quality of the minidolls. There is great playability presented and kept me on my toes all month.
