This smallish set of 375 pieces contains three minifigures (two cops and one bad guy) a police truck and a trailer. The color scheme is mainly white with some bright blue trimmings. And for the enjoyment of the sticker-loving Lego fan the set is adorned by 17 stickers. I was a little surprised that the front end of the truck was built separately and then added to the chassis of the truck, but it works really well and the truck looks quite realistic. I really like the fact that Lego has started to add side-view mirrors to Lego cars, since of my old 1980s Lego cars don't have any. :) The trailer is jam packed with both play features and accessories, such as a hidden coffee machine, adjustable surveillance screens, a storage compartment, and a break-out-of-jail-by-using-a-crowbar function. While the Mobile Police Unit is a good looking set with which kids will have tons of fun, I do have a few minor complaints: Firstly, the yellow chairs are perhaps a bit too close to the screens. I seated one of the police officers in front of the screens and his baseball cap almost touches the screen above him. Secondly, the wheels of the trailer are attached to the bottom only by four studs each. I managed to break one of the black wheel bearing elements off when handling the trailer, so they might be too flimsily attached for a rough play session. Thirdly, I was a bit baffled by the two white bricks with horizontal holders inside the trailer since neither of them seemed to have any function. Then I happened to glance at the back of the packing box and found out that they're supposed to be used to hold the flashlight and the walkie-talkie. This is something that could have been included in the instruction booklets. And finally, some complaints about the particular set I picked from the store shelf: There seems to be something wrong with the bad guy's legs in my set. The ball and chain contraption won't stick to his right leg and has to be placed on the left side. Also, the instruction booklets in my set were quite badly wrinkled. I'm just glad the sticker sheet wasn't affected because warped stickers will eventually peel off on their own. Otherwise, a very cool set for those who enjoy playing cops and robbers or have an affection for "spy stuff".
My son loves it very much. The plastic is very good, no pungent taste. We are very satisfied with it. Will purchase others in future.
With plenty of play features and multiple minifigures, this is a fun set in the LEGO City line that lets kids come up with all sorts of cops and robbers scenarios.
