Love this restaurant themed LEGO build. Even if you don't care for the scary side of this it can easily be used as a standard shrimp shack. Great detail and it would go perfectly with the hidden side shrimp boat which I have my eye on next!

I really do not have many complaints about Shrimp Shack Attack. In truth, I like it more than the Paranormal Intercept Bus 3000. Both are great sets, but the Shrimp Shack has a more accessible design, and better detailing. Additionally, even if you buy it at full price, this set is a good value.

I very much enjoyed this set. I love the the concept, the minifigures, everything is amazing. We have never gotten a seafood shack in Lego before, and they blew it out of the park. Highly recommend.

I know that play functions will be enjoyed by the age group this set is aimed at. My own children are too young to build such a set but after I showed them the completed set they happily opened the shack's hatches to serve some fish and turned the Technic gear to put the fish into the monster's mouth as "he was hungry". Play functions are something we perhaps under-appreciate as adults but children love anything with moving parts.

Even for fans who are not as interested in the new Hidden Side range, 70422 Shrimp Shack Attack may still appeal. The fun seaside theme, along with the spooky surprises, make for a fantastic model, just as long as you hide away that sci-fi dune-buggy.

70422 Shrimp Shack Attack is undoubtedly among my favourite Hidden Side sets, striking the perfect balance between mundanity and fantasy. The restaurant looks quite realistic in its standard form and I like how the designer has hidden its transformative features while also suggesting that Newbury might be under some negative influence, based upon the dilapidated aesthetic of certain buildings.

One thing I like about the Hidden Side theme is the nice mix of builds. There is a decent mix between vehicles and building. The Shack is a fun looking little set, without the haunted elements it would fit nicely next to the Old Fishing Shop set and I've seen a few people hoping to add it to their own LEGO city displays. It also pairs nicely with set 70419: Wrecked Shrimp Boat. But as a set of its own right, it fun to build and has a lot of simple details with add up to a great looking set. The Hidden Side elements are also fun, particular the slide out section.
