This large set is loaded with features that allow kids to play out, or stage, aerial battles between the ninjas and air pirates.
Misfortune's Keep 70605 was a very cool set and had many brilliant features. I think the price tag was a bit high but it was slightly larger than I expected and the large fans can move up and down. It can also shoot discs and has two working cannons that can be concealed. I think the only main issue was the amount of stickers, but I guess that's the issue with most LEGO sets. It also comes with Lloyd's flyer, which lets down a rope when you spin the golden wheel in the centre. The rope was a bit hard to do but was an excellent feature. Overall this was an AMAZING set that did not disappoint. Great work LEGO!!!
Purchased this for my great grandson for Christmas. He loves Lego's and especially Ninjago at this point. He is seven and has no problem putting this together. The engineering that goes into making this product is amazing. The directions are easily followed. Also, make sure you keep the instruction book. This way if the dog chews up some parts or they get lost you can go to Lego website and order parts. I recommend this product.
My thoughts on this set are mixed. There are many aspects of the model which I like very much but it seems rather crude in places and there are a number of imperfections which bother me. By reducing the size of Lloyd's turbo jet the designer could have used some of the remaining elements to make the keep a little sturdier and add some detail to the rear platform which looks rather bland to me in its current state.
This is was a fun build. I really like this crazy ramshackle look that works great over the top of a sturdy technic frame. Lots of play features too, with shooting cannons and disc launchers and big engines with a lever activated tilt. The price per piece is a bit lower than I would like, but not bad when you factor in all of the large elements in the set.
All in all, Misfortune's Keep is a keeper. Despite its few missteps, it's still a steampunk flying aircraft carrier, and that's just too cool to pass up no matter your age. The finished model is one of my favorite set builds in quite a while, and certainly my favorite Ninjago set, plus there's a host of extra parts included.
