My son loved it it actually helped complete his set
This entire series is an outstanding release with minor rant such as the repeated inclusion of Unikitty design. Overall, I would said this is quite a remarkable release including fulfilling the distribution ratio with 3 complete sets in a sealed box. This alone, is a huge winner to ensure the distribution spread is done appropriately. Furthermore, I also noted with the minifigure neck marking increased the tightness and grip of the head and neck. This is actually great for CMFs which was previously lacking.
Overall The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) series is a pretty interesting one with a number of characters that you wouldn't really expect to see in one of the sets. My favorite one is probably the Giraffe guy as well as the Wizard of Oz crew which are some popular ones among fans. There are also some questionable inclusions such as Emmet and Unikitty. Do we really need another of their variants even though they have been heavily featured in the sets and Unikitty in her series from last year?
Armed with a mean mixtape cassette, Candy Rapper is the third member of the Popular Band to fill the ranks of this series. Candy is dressed in the loud pink dress of a bubblegum pop singer, including a bright pink tutu that's printed with dark pink and white stripes on top. Her legs are double molded with bright pink boots and white tights. The clear 1×2 tile printed as a cassette tape is only the second non-stickered cassette that LEGO's made, following Star-Lord's black mixtape.
I found a few surprises looking through the set, especially with the UV: Bright Green seems to be particularly Bright. I wonder how other elements in this colour look?. Orange is inconsistent: some versions of Bright Orange Fluoresce, others do not. Likewise red: I have some fuselage elements joined together at home: some fluoresce, others don't! Some ‘Bright' colours don't seem to glow at all. Overall, it's a pretty diverse collection!
My favourite of the musicians is Candy Rapper, whose lurid pink colour scheme and tutu reminds me of the excellent N-Pop Girl from The LEGO NINJAGO Movie. The dark pink hair piece includes a pink streak at the front and a metallic silver star is printed on its side. Matching metallic silver stars appear on her dress alongside a series of pink and white strips.
