I'm really happy with the Jay Garrick Flash, and it's been a long-time coming, so I won't be surprised if this is one of the most popular characters in this series.
Ultimately, 71026 DC Super Heroes Collectible Minifigures is a series to be enjoyed, be that for its contents, the new trans-clear piece alone (it really is rather good) or for the simple fact that this sort of risk can be and is taken by the LEGO Group in 2019.
As for the minifigures we do get in this wave, they aren't bad looking at all. Some of them are highly detailed but some are pretty plain but accurate to the source materials.
If you're a DC fan, then you're definitely going to want to pick up this entire series, as it will be a quick and easy way to add some really cool comics history to your minifigure collection. I can only imagine that Marvel fans are already salivating at the thought of a similar series for them. Personally, I've still got dreams of a Star Wars series, as unlikely as that is. Nevertheless, although I'm not particularly a DC fan, I've found these minifigures to be exceptionally interesting and awesome.
The head underneath appears similarly accurate to the comics and the torso is remarkably detailed, potentially surpassing the artwork from Flash Comics #1. I love the authentic wrinkles in Jay's jacket and the lightning bolt, with its metallic gold outline, seems attractive. The dual-moulded legs are also splendid so display printed wings on each boot, thereby reflecting the source material.
The DC universe has a nice mix of characters, but they certainly aren't as varied as Marvel's. Although there are some nice characters here, I can't help but feel another DC series was a little unnecessary. Sure it has given us some nice new elements, but I doubt they will have much use beyond the characters here, apart from appearing in future DC sets.
