Superman

Unfortunately, the one thing holding back the LEGO Rebirth costume is the lack of steel bracers that are present on the actual comic book suit. It feels like a glaring ommission on LEGO's parts, and holds this back from being one of the best LEGO Superman minifigures released. So close, yet so far. more less

If you're a DC fan, then you're definitely going to want to pick up this entire series, as it will be a quick and easy way to add some really cool comics history to your minifigure collection. I can only imagine that Marvel fans are already salivating at the thought of a similar series for them. Personally, I've still got dreams of a Star Wars series, as unlikely as that is. Nevertheless, although I'm not particularly a DC fan, I've found these minifigures to be exceptionally interesting and awesome. more less

The DC universe has a nice mix of characters, but they certainly aren't as varied as Marvel's. Although there are some nice characters here, I can't help but feel another DC series was a little unnecessary. Sure it has given us some nice new elements, but I doubt they will have much use beyond the characters here, apart from appearing in future DC sets. more less

While this minifigure has been executed nicely, similar renditions of Superman are already available. The accompanying 2x2 newspaper tile is unique though, featuring the famous 'Caped Wonder Stuns City' headline which appeared during the 1978 Superman movie. The photo underneath seems more reminiscent of Superman Returns and I appreciate how Superman stands out, even in this tiny image. more less

Ultimately, 71026 DC Super Heroes Collectible Minifigures is a series to be enjoyed, be that for its contents, the new trans-clear piece alone (it really is rather good) or for the simple fact that this sort of risk can be and is taken by the LEGO Group in 2019. more less
