Lego Kits are just as they are, lego kits. I found this kit to be quiet fun. My children seemed to want to just free build off of what I built and play with the characters. I found that every lego is well made, a bright solid color and the characters are amazing with the amount of detail and thought that went into them! With just 286 pieces this awesome NINJAGO Empire Dragon set is quiet cute and fun to put together. The instructions are easy to follow and my five and six year olds were actually able to follow most of the instructions with minimal help - mostly they just needed help pushing down some of the tighter legs to snap on. Both of my children were so happy when they completed their step.Overall this is an awesome lego set that will leave you feeling quiet accomplished after you get it put together. The set took about 45-50 minutes to put together for my children - for me it would have taken about 15-20 minutes.
This dragon is an amazing set. I love everything about it. Starting off with the minifigures, we have Unagami, Kai, and Lloyd. Kai and Lloyd both come in their Arcade Pods and Kai also comes in the Mech-Jet so this is by no means the cheapest way to get those two. However, for Unagami, the main villain of Season 12, this is the cheapest way to get him. Now onto the dragon. In terms of build, this dragon reminds me of Stormbringer and the Lloyd's Mech Dragon. I like how this dragon takes more influence from Asian dragons rather than European ones and really helps to tie Ninjago back into the culture the series is based off. The dragon has a very, very nice head. I love the streaks of teal running across the top. The cockpit is very nice and well-built. I especially enjoy the trans-neon orange hexagon piece that acts as a visor for Unagami. The torso, however, is a little skinny. I personally don't mind this too much as the dragon is definitely more Asian-inspired and most Eastern dragons do have slim, serpent-like torsos. As for the legs, I like the trans-neon orange blades that protrude from the front legs. The back legs and the tail are both decent builds. I guess my only complaint with this dragon is the overuse of stickers. This set is $30 and has 11 stickers. That's quite a lot, but it isn't too much of a big deal. Overall, this is a great dragon and in my opinion, the best Prime Empire set. I would absolutely recommend it for any Ninjago fan.
I am impressed with this dragon and hope to encounter more villainous NINJAGO animals in the future.
