There are flaws in this model. The lack of a second Clone Pilot, the fact that the side pods are not as accurate as I had hoped, and the distinct absence of any standard Clone Troopers to ride in the Republic Gunship. The price is a little higher than I might have hoped too, although there are plenty of improvements which have been made to go some way to explain the dramatic price increase. Perhaps an additional couple of Clone Troopers or another Clone Pilot would have helped to soften the blow quite significantly. However, despite these few problems, which are fairly insignificant in my opinion, the set as a whole is brilliant.
I love the set but when I got it I was worried about it missing items but it had everything in it but the Lego box it self was what concerned me because it looked as if a garage door closed on top of it and then was dragged on the by a car with a rope but other than that it had all it's pieces the poster, sticker sheet ,and the instruction manuals were all their just the box was damaged badly if the box was just lightly scuffed on the edges I would give this a five star but then it is a 2013 set so I wouldn't get to picky
It's definitely a great set you'd buy for the set itself rather then the figs, I'd say it is actually worth the money, it's a very recognizable ship and looks great on the shelf of collectors and lots of playability for kids. I highly recommend it for people who are fan of the ship but missed it's previous versions like me, and this one definitely puts the CW one to shame.
This version of the Republic Gunship has the best design in terms of looks and sturdiness. It makes for a good display item and can be handled more roughly without sustaining serious damage. Despite these qualities, the set doesn't feel very new to me because it has been made twice already in the past. Even the minifigs are just new versions of previously existing ones. If you haven't been jaded by Lego's recreations of popular Star Wars ships, then this is a great set to have.
What you get is a total-package of a set. Like you can see above, when I indulged myself and tapped the clone collection to fill up the gunship, this is ready to mix into your collection and add figures into a display. At 1175 parts, this set feels like it's worth the $120 price tag it commands, and a worthy upgrade to a well-loved ship. The minifigures you get are unique and fit the set (even if one of the weapons doesn't), and it's ultimately fun to swoop. In short… this is one great set.
