Fans of Star Wars: The Force Awakens will like building their very own Kylo Ren action figure with this LEGO construction set. The posability of this action figure makes it great for playing out favorite scenes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens or imagining all-new action-packed Dark Side storylines.
A very well interpenetration of one of the most iconic villains ever, the building process was very fun, and the fact that this vader is made up from Bionic'ish Lego parts makes him look very aggressive, as if he's some sort of an "armored Vader", it just makes him look very cool in my opinion, and the size of the final build is great whether to play with or just have on display, I highly recommend this to any star wars and or Lego fan! (I included a photo to show what the final thing looks like if anyone is interested)
What an impressive headsculpt! That's what I'm starting with. The headsculpt looks absolutly fantastic. Great job on that LEGO! Further more this is a great figure. Both for kids as for adults. I first bought an buildable star wars figure to know what is was and how it felt like in hand. And boy, is it great! Got almost the entire collection now. So it's safe to say that I hope LEGO will continue creating these and giving us more awesome figures to build and dare I say it... to play with? One small thing I would like to see changed is... keep them as they were. I don't like the new 'action' the new figures can do. I'd like to see that removed. I get it, it's fun for the kids but it isn't a 'must' for kids. The non-action figures were much better and beter to play/display because it didn't have something sticking out of the back. Anyway, I like what LEGO is doing with these figures and really hope that they will continue this and not just stop creating these after a few waves. Greetz from Belgium!
If you're on the fence about these buildable figures like I did, I would probably recommend picking one of them up just to experience it properly to make up your mind on whether you can integrate and assimilate these Constraction Figures into your collection. If you already have Star Wars ships, builds or models on display, the buildable Kylo Ren will find it really easy to fit in seamlessly with your other LEGO star wars sets.
Kylo Ren as a set has a great look too him. Unfortunately that look comes as a price hike compared to similar sets and lacks any grand building styles underneath the armor and fabric. But the fabric is a large bonus with many building opportunities. Overall the value will be decided through your own collection, but would be easier to decide with a better piece-to-price value. I think he looks pretty cool though, and am happy to have him in my collection.
The Star Wars sets thus far have all focused on human characters (Grievous excepting), and while it's understandable from a marketing point of view - it is based on a movie series starring humans, after all - there's just such a wealth of diversity to the universe that it sometimes feels like a missed opportunity not to include some alien characters, especially since human head molds at this scale rarely work. But when you have a helmeted character, it shines. Kylo Ren could have gone astray at multiple times, with an all-black color scheme, but manages to pull everything off to be an interesting figure AND a good interpretation of the character. Villains have more fun, indeed.
I am quite pleased with this figure on the whole as it looks great and is highly poseable, although I must admit to being a little disappointed with the build which is extremely basic, with nothing like the level of intricacy enjoyed in 75111 Darth Vader or 75112 General Grievous. The size of the figure led me to believe it might include as many interesting building techniques as those figures but the piece count and price suggest the opposite, so my slight disappointment is probably a result of my own unrealistic expectations.
