This is a perfect set for a LEGO Star Wars display or diorama that recreates the epic battle in The Empire Strikes Back. It's also great for anyone building a larger Hoth battle scene.

First of all, this is an EXCELLENT set for both the price and play experience. I think that Lego did a really good job on it and it was a large improvement of the 2009 set, Echo base (7749). It says its from Empire Strikes Back, but the Hoth Rebel's design also matches the video game Star Wars Battlefront (one of my personal favorites), so it could be from either. Great set overall. Pros: -Price -Value -Model size -Nice Hoth Rebel minifigure with a A280C blaster rifle -Cool snowtroooper with a design accurate to the movie -Nice Han Solo minifigure -The little cog can be used to to the DF.9 Laser Tower -The minifigures can be stationed to make it look like a small battle -The flick missles are really cool. Cons: -Lots of small pieces -Minifigures, although they can ride inside, can't fit all the way in the laser tower like the can in the movies -Probe droid could have been a little more detailed and accurate -Snowtrooper "backpack" doesn't look realistic. -Not much else

This set may be on the smaller side for the price but the minifigures included allow for a perfect little Hoth scene! The snow bank itself expands and has the ability to form a nice trench for the Rebel troops or wrap around the base of the turret to make a more built up look. The turret itself has a nice hatch to place a trooper and by far my favorite part; uses a gear system hidden away to rotate it without actually touching the turret!

I think this set is alright. The minifigures are okay and the build is decent. However, I think this is definitely not a standout at all. You won't miss much if you spend your money on something else.
