This set is absolutely fabulous. There are numerous characters with great printing. The build itself is so much fun! The ship is a great size and looks really good on display! On top of that, it has some wonderful play features, including the bombing mechanism and the almost hidden stud shooters. My sister and I love to play with this set along side the first order star destroyer. The LEGO designers did an excellent job on this set!
Bought this for a 10-year-old Great Grandson, a Star Wars Freak. He loves it. Lots of stuff to do, kept him and his Dad busy for a long time.
This set is fun to build, but it's also fun to play with. The different cockpits and the cool Minifigs provide a jumping off point for all kinds of imaginative play.
When something that has a cool, sleek design different to what has come before arrives in the LEGO Star Wars line, fans should pay attention. If that set also offers an impressive, stable build, with a decent selection of minifigures, it is a must buy. 75188 Resistance Bomber ticks all of these boxes.
Overall, this is a good set – probably one of the best The Last Jedi sets. The minifigure selection is good, with main characters and detailed secondary ones, and the ship itself is unique – something not often seen in the sequel trilogy. The Bomber's play features all work well and I appreciate the good swooshability.
It's a solid build but without having seen the movie, it's difficult to really gauge its significance. I am trying to keep an open mind about it because of the complete reversal of opinion I had about the U-wing from Rogue One.
It's hard to render a final judgment on a set based on a movie that's not out yet, without the usual reference materials I typically rely on, but with a fun build and cool finished model with great minifigs, I very much enjoyed 75188 Resistance Bomber. That said, $110 for only 778 pieces (with an arguably “missing" minifig) doesn't make this set a very good value for the money.
