Compared to the other Lego Star War figures, this one is kind of a let down. Yeah, it's Chewie, but it feels like a compromise. It doesn't have the amount of articulation that you've come to expect with the Troopers, Vader, Fett, etc. You can't even move that big, lovable rug of a head. Build time / difficulty / satisfaction was similar to the rest. If your looking to fill out the ranks of you collection, than purchase it, but not at the current premium pricing.
It's an easy build for kids that yields plenty of opportunities for post-build play. Fans can use this Chewbacca action figure to recreate scenes from The Last Jedi or any of the Star Wars films that have long featured this loveable original character. The figure is also highly poseable thanks to ball joint pieces for articulation that makes it equally fun to display in different stances.
As a Lego, Star Wars, and Chewbacca fan, I really wanted this buildable figure when I was looking to buy a Lego set. Fortunately I found it at sale for $20 at Walmart and decided to pick it up. I felt that is was challenging enough and had enough parts to somewhat warrant at least a $25 price tag, but if you really want this one, I would wait for it to go on sale. I took me around 40 minutes to an hour to build, and I would say it is a cool build. The biggest, most glaring issue with this figure, along with other builable figures, which detracts from the play quality, is that anytime, you move it, it just falls over and collapses. Pros: Its Chewbacca, so... The brown and grey fur coloration on the pieces have a fairly nice print The working bowcaster is really cool The head mold is quite detailed and the coloration is accurate to Chewie's appearance in TLJ Figure appears absoloutley huge compared to even the Death Trooper buildable figure. Build was more challenging and took longer than I initially expected. Cons: Figure easily falls over Figure, looks a bit "clunky" and awkward with the armor plates and technic joints exposed underneath. The claws for feet look a little wierd Bandolier/strap looks a bit loose Head and limbs have near-minimal joint movement At least in my personal opinion, $35 is a way overpriced for this figure (again, wait for it to go on sale, at least down to $25)
I wouldn't really say this is that bad a set. However, it's not that great in my opinion, with the creepy head and strange fur panels. The price is not bad considering its size but is still not very good considering it costs as much as the equally-priced 75112 General Grievous in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand.
The hairy nature of a Wookiee seems entirely unsuitable for the Buildable Figures range but this figure is excellent! The numerous printed elements look marvellous and the proportions of the model are almost perfect, as is the design of the bandolier which runs across Chewbacca's chest. I love the shaping of the head sculpt too, particularly since the matted hair fits neatly over the torso but still allows some range of motion, a quality not possessed by many Chewbacca action figures.
75530 is a faithful and aesthetically satisfying recreation of our beloved Chewbacca. Though the figure's burly armoring limits its poseability, and the bowcaster proves a little inconvenient to load, I find it overall a very gratifying figure. Chewie stands tall and proud, and feels very much like himself.
