This is a small set with some big fun thanks to the unique figures and their specialized vehicles. Kids can dream up all sorts of imaginative play scenarios with this set and collectors will probably want it because of the minifigures, which includes the exclusive Scuba Batman.
This set is a good value. It gives you one of Batman's in one of his special suits, a new Penguin. It's a good buy for Batman fans of all ages.
Love the Batman and Penguin Mini-figs. The set was simple to build - took less than an hour. The Penguin's Duck Vehicle is well done, but the Batman water jet thingy is rather disappointing. The large gap between the nose and rear is kind of strange - held by to bars with a large gap of nothingness in between.. Batman has no place to sit/stand, particularly while he's wearing the included flippers. You can however, clip has hands to the handle bars while his body is suspended from behind (kind of odd). The two robot penguins holding dynamite sticks are pretty cool, but they have no place to lock in, so they have to simply rest upright on the simulated ice. One sneeze and they'll topple.
The very campy nature of the set may be a turn off for those down with the new grittier takes on a grown man who dresses like a bat and fights a myriad of goofy freaks in a never ending cycle of catch and escape, but it's a fun set and fun is fun.
Yes this set is actually better than I thought it'd be. The Bat-vehicle thingy, is sub par, as his vehicles usually are. The rubber duck is absolutely wonderful. Both minifigures are definitely up there on my list of best DC figures I own. I do wish there were some better functions, flick fires don't cut it any more.
This is a wonderfully unique set for the Lego Super Heroes line. It includes a beautifully designed scuba Batman whose head can be used in custom sci-fi minifigs. The variety of individual models and above-average number of parts makes it fun for the kids and useful to builders. The unique minifigs from this set will help boost its collection value. It's overall a great set.
