Love this set. It was slightly challenging for my 7 year old but not too hard for her to do with minimal assistance. My 4 year old has joined her playing with it for a decent amount of time (1 hour or slightly more). Instructions were easy to follow. Truck is large in size once built. Net thrower is great
Spider-Man's Monster Truck is one of my least favorite sets. The main build has no relevance to Spider-Man. It needs Spider-Man stickers to have any relation what-so-ever. The set's saving grace is a good overall value and a wonderful Minifigure selection. However, even the Minifigures would not be enough to make me buy this kit.
The overall set is far more than just a couple of decent Minifigures, I can see the Monster Truck and it's various play features being a hit with younger LEGO fans and I enjoyed building it, especially the suspension, which was a little different to what I've experienced before. I cannot express how much I love the Mysterio Minifigure, the slight tweaks to the design of the character compared to other versions does so much to lift the appearance and impact of this classic Spider-Man foe.
If you're a fan of the Spider-Verse, these sets should have enough to be interesting to you from the character standpoint. And if you're just looking for silly Spider-fun, or a gift, they're probably a safe bet, too. But if you're looking for non-minifigure LEGO reusability…maybe wait for a sale unless you're really fond of yellow Technic pins, obviously.
All up, these sets are good fun. The minifigures once again are great, and young Marvel fans will get a lot of enjoyment from playing with them.
Fundamentally, I dislike the concept of 76174 Spider-Man's Monster Truck vs. Mysterio. Spider-Man has little requirement for transportation and I think his foes should receive the vehicles in Marvel sets. However, I also believe this model has been cleverly executed. The suspension mechanism is great and the enormous tyres appear perfectly suitable for this kind of vehicle, featuring dramatically exaggerated proportions.
