My husband and I bought this as a Christmas gift for our ten-year-old grandson, who says he wants to be an architect. We also gave him one of the Lego models shown in the book. The book covers a wide range of architectural landmarks which are included in the Lego Architecture set of models. If our grandson continues with his wish to be an architect, we will buy other models in this set for him as time goes on. We took a sneak peek at the book, and are very impressed with the layout, the information about the buildings, and the integration of the models with the real buildings. Lego had some impressive obstacles to overcome in creating the models -- many of them have rounded lines, and Lego blocks tend to be square. The Lego folks had to come up with some interesting solutions. We think this book and the models that go along with it will certainly stimulate our grandson's imagination.

Recommendation: meh 4.5 / 5 by Allen "Tormentalous" Tran

Overall, LEGO Architecture: The Visual Guide is a very elegant printed book, much as you would expect from DK. The slipcover was a good addition and makes the book a very nice coffee table book. The contents of the book itself was very informative from Adam Tucker Reed and the other LEGO designers creative thinking process to how they recreated some of the most iconic structures throughout the world.

Recommendation: no 4 / 5 by Tommy

Overall it's a fantastic book, super-soaked in visual style and eye candy. It's a pleasure to thumb through over and over, and I'm sure it will appeal to a wide range of readers, both young and old. Even those that wouldn't consider themselves a LEGO enthusiast will still enjoy the history, artistic layout and rich aesthetic style of the book.

Finally, we're treated to more information about the original subject matter. While I was familiar with most of the models in the LEGO Architecture series, there were some I knew very little about. I enjoyed reading about these structures and learning more about them.
