While the book's $50 pricetag might seem a little daunting, the value that you get from this book more than makes up for it. With Christmas coming up, this book would make the ideal gift for any LEGO fans and I highly recommend adding this book to your collection.
Overall, I feel that Great LEGO Sets: A Visual History is a pretty decent read as there's a lot of information to digest.
As AFOL (Adult Fan of Lego) I highly recommend this book. As all DK books is full of great pictures in high quality printing. Even Though is impossible to put in a single book all the sets from our chilhood, I think they did an oustanding work showing the most representatives Lego sets throug the last 60 years. I really have enjoyed it and of course is always nice that a book has a Lego set, even if is tiny. The book has a very lovely mini version of the iconic Lego Galaxy Explorer from the Classic Lego Space series.
The set was designed by Brickset's favourite Aussie set designer Mel Caddick and I think you will agree she's done a fantastic job and produced a set that's as great, if not better, than many of those featured in the book.
When I came back from holidays not long ago, I was pleasantly surprised to see a copy of DK's Great LEGO Sets: A Visual History waiting for me. Now, I realise I'm a bit behind the times with this one, but I figured I'd run another competition to give it away anyway. It's a fantastic book that every LEGO fan should have on their shelves.
