Is it a LEGO book talking about history or is it a history book using LEGO as representations? I think the later, yet still think it is something certain LEGO fans will enjoy. So if you are in to your LEGO Castle etc then this might just be the book for you, if you have a youngster learning history then again this is the book for you.
Despite the attention to detail, and the care with which this book has been put together, taking a closer look I can't help but feel something is missing. While the descriptions of the significant historical moments is obviously well researched, the book definitely isn't a page turner. Some of the images are quite nice, but overall they also fail to attract my attention beyond the 5 minute read of your average coffee table book. Still, I'm keeping it on display!
An interesting book and a good one to get kids learning more about history. People who are already into history or want to learn more about the events of this time period. Although it doesn't give you all the minor details of the events, it does give you a short lesson going over the main points while also showing some LEGO builds that correspond to them.
This interesting combination will no doubt appeal to Lego fans and history buffs, but you don't have to be either to find the book approachable in its simplicity.
