Great assortment to start off a kid's Lego collection or to build up an already existing one. Comes with pieces of multiple colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, and white) in both opaque and see through versions. Includes slanted roof pieces, regular 2x4 bricks, 2x2 bricks, 2x1 bricks, flat pieces and even some eyes to name a few. It doesn't include many of each type but it does give a huge variety. And for all those parents who have spent countless hours prying teeny bricks apart, there is a special tool that just pops them right off of each other easy as can be. Also includes a booklet showing a few ideas to get kids started such as a bird, guitar, and cupcake. Or you can just build walls and houses to your hearts content.

This brightly colored set was a gift from my wife and son for Valentine's Day this year. While I typically consider myself to be more of an instructions follower, the joy of creative building with these pieces with the whole family has been a great experience. The colors are fun, and the many sets of eyes make creating goofy creatures a blast. My only drawback with the set is that there seems to be a lack of 1x3 pieces, which I tend to like a little better for building purposes than 1x4s and 1x2s. For someone who typically only gets Super Hero Lego sets, this has been a really fun experience.

This box is a great opportunity for those skilled builders who want to improve their abilities with colours and also for children who need to begin with easy constructions full of colour.

If you want to bulk out your bright colours collection, then this is an excellent purchase. Costing £18 / $20 for 303-pieces it's not as cheap per piece as the larger boxes, or indeed last year's 1000-piece 10682 creative suitcase, but then they include parts in colours you've probably got too many of already.
