If you enjoyed Pixar's masterpiece, you absolutely have to own this set. Even if you're not a hardcore Pixar fan, Wall-E's iconic status as an animated character, as well as his outstanding design is reason enough to add him to your collection. I own several sets that have “permanent display" status (Orthanc is one of them) and Wall-E is a LEGO set that I've instantly bestowed that status upon.

Very nice set. Take 2h to build without any rush. Lot of nice details. A must have for the movies fan. One important note, some early boxes are recalled to fix a problem in the neck support. If you find yours wobbly, and especially if you received it before mid-September ask LEGO for updated pieces at http://service.lego.com/en-us/contactus They will send you 4 pieces for free that seem to fix the lower neck stability issue. (Mine seems ok after assembly using the new pieces)

This set is still available, so do yourself a favour and go and get it! It's decently priced, has some nice new colours, and is a must for your collection. Second hand markets will see you spending a little more on a BNIB set, but just go straight to the source and save a bit of money while you can. This set is sure to skyrocket when it retires.

This is by far the most fun build I have put together. I was so happy with the end result. My kids want to play with him all the time.. but I have to tell them that Daddy's toys are not toys. :) Great work design team!

The whole build is extremely detailed and very accurate to the 2008 movie down to Hal, his cockroach friend, which is just made with a 1×2 plate with an antenna piece. The head is my favorite part of the build because that's where WALL·E stands out in both the movie and the set. You can get a lot of expressions just from the eyes itself and even more with the pose of the arms and hands.

I wanted to love the set because I love the movie so much, and finally having a LEGO version makes me want to scream to the heavens “AT LAST!". But for it to take an AFOL's modification to fix a glaring design flaw by re-introducing an element that was in the submitted model but taken out of the final production model prevents me from giving it a perfect score.

If you can move away from the playability factor (weak neck), then I think this set is actually a great representation of Wall-E in LEGO form and just the right size to make a perfect display piece. I have to admit I have falling in love with this little fellow and he now sits proudly on my office desk!

While the neck is a weak point of this model it still looks amazing. It looks alot like the original from the movie and can move in a lot of different ways. So yes this is certainly a Lego IDEAS must have.

Past LEGO Ideas sets have sold out almost instantly and I expect this one will be the best selling yet, so if you are planning to buy the set on its official release date of September 1st, make sure to move quickly. I'm certain that you won't be disappointed.

As my friends and family have heard me exclaim over and over for the past few weeks while I've waited to reveal this review, Wall•E is awesome! I was honestly expecting the final model to deviate fairly far from Angus's original, but that is not the case. At 677 pieces, the model doesn't skimp on parts, nor detail. Similarly, I was never expecting this much functionality, but Wall•E is fully articulated and just short of fully functional in an industrial capacity.

WALL-E just might be my favorite set that I've built this year, and I've built the new Toa and the awesome UCS Slave I. You get 677 pieces for $60, but that's irrelevant because you're probably not going to take WALL-E apart - he's just too cute. He captures the on-screen version so well and is so much fun that I think anyone who ever saw the movie should pick him up. If there's one non-CCBS set you buy this year, make it WALL-E.

Everyone in my family said this model was "cute" and you have to agree. I think WALL•E is an iconic Pixar character and a lot of people would be familiar with him. For that reason alone, this set will be popular. The issues surrounding the head/neck might be important to some people, and of no concern to others. I suspect most owners will leave WALL•E built and on display, so the lack of stable movement won't really matter to them. It annoyed me slightly because it was tricky taking the photos I wanted, but if you have the parts to apply the fix there is no real issue.
