I can see myself keeping this year's Easter LEGO set on my display shelf for a long time. It doesn't take up a lot of space and is super cute. If you're into celebrating Easter with chocolate eggs and anthropomorphic bunnies, this will be the perfect centerpiece for your Easter feast.

I consider myself fairly critical, but there is simply nothing to critique about this set. LEGO always put special effort into staying neutral in regards to race and religion, so depicting Easter may be a slight bend in those principles, but that could be said of almost any seasonal set. It's amazing how much value can be fitted into a tiny box, this set excels at "playability", "collectability" and parts selection, something that is generally hard not to compromise at this scale. I can picture anyone buying this, from an office clerk as his desk ornament to a little kid who wants to interact with the characters.

Just like the Valentine's set from last month, the Painting Easter Eggs (40121) looks to be another hit with LEGO fans. I would've had the set reviewed a little earlier but it was quickly sold out at my LEGO Store before I knew it was released and I had to wait for more to be restocked. The set itself has a fairly playful setting. You have the older female minifigure preparing for Easter while the younger male minifigure is messing around and eventually breaking one of the eggs.

My college professor son-in-law thinks this is the best LEGO set ever! It even has a tiny cookie sheet /tiny cookies in the oven.I love it too.I admit I am struggling to resist the temptation to "Kragle" it. So far, so good.Accompanied in photo #2 by the giant Easter Bunny w/the Carrot-laser.

To date, there's been eight seasonal vignettes that LEGO has produced. These have proven to be very collectible, and offer some cute little insights into a minifigure's year. Apart from that though, there's not much else to mention. I'm happy I've got it, and I'd love to get my hands on some of the other vignettes, but compared to other sets, it's not as great.

Not counting the spare flowers, I received 11 extra elements. Combined with the 153 on the inventory, I wound up with 164 elements in a $9.99 set. Paying 6¢ and element makes this a pretty sweet parts pack. No wonder they kept disappearing so quickly. I'd definitely recommend buying at least one of these if you can get your hands on them. My local Lego Store is sold out again and I suspect that they won't be coming back in. Grab one if you can!
