Our 7 year old daughter purchased this with her Christmas money. I thought it would be a waste and she wouldn't be able to build it. Boy was I wrong! She did it ALL on her own and she loves it! Poison Ivy drives down a ramp and can shoot flowers! Lena Luther and her ship can grab the crystal at the top. Unlike sets her brother built, as long as we can keep it together, I can see the pride of accomplishment coupled with the cool aspects of this set make it a winner! Loved the Amazon price too! Make more sets for girls like this!
Despite a few niggling issues, and taking into consideration that this is the anchor set for the entire line, it gets a well-deserved 4 out of 5 stars. The bad points are easily overshadowed by the many play features. Ignoring its poor execution, the set is somewhat expandable with the upcoming Wonder Woman set and includes lockers for all of the Super Hero Girls found in other sets.
This construction set will be a fun way to merge building with LEGO and the DC Super Hero Girls for girls who like both. The high school is where the show takes place, and fans are really going to like building that central location and bringing it to life through LEGO. There are a lot of fun elements for kids to explore as they build and play, and the action features will bring some of the excitement from the show to life and allow girls to recreate the good-versus-evil storylines that they've watched on the show or make up new ones.
My mom got this for my 5 year old daughter. It was above her level, but we built it together and had a great time with it! She loves playing with this playset. It's quite impressive!

The inclusion of only two tiny “classrooms" and a small café area also feels rather underwhelming. I would say that if you are buying this set as a Super Hero action-based set, then you will probably find it meets your needs pretty well, but if you are hoping for it to be a school-centric “dollhouse"-type model (as I was) then it may well not. However, I still enjoyed the build process and look forward to adding to my Super Hero Girls collection in the coming months.
