I hesitated before ordering this item, mainly for its somewhat futuristic characteristics. But I took the risk and, honestly, I do not regret it; on the contrary, I am fully satisfied with this item. Beautiful, with many hand-operable features, enough detail, of a future that is already today. And that was a huge pleasure to build. more less

Adults and kids alike will love building and playing with this exceptional vehicle from LEGO. Huge Wheels pivot in opposition with manual wheel steering capabilities, and the excellent suspension and big tires are great for handling rough terrain. There's a manual working boom and bucket for carrying away objects, and the chassis raises and lowers with adjustable counterbalance. Completing the set there's even a buildable mapping drone. more less

This was/is a hit. While it will take a couple hours, at least (all day here), it is worth the effort. In this case, an eight year-old did most of the work. It says it is intended for 10+, and it is, but this eight year-old has an older brother in HS more than happy to help out. Fine motor skills are required here and there. Similarly, whatever the age, this isn't a beginner set. It will help to have worked on Lego before. Because there are so many pieces, mostly quite small, and because of the complexity, have a dedicated space for construction. You'll need to go online for the dump truck instructions. Have fun! At the beginning of the review I mentioned that I was very fond of this model. Well, that didn't change upon completing the build. I like everything about it. And I find it particularly interesting, and audacious, that TLG and Volvo actually went ahead with this project. This proves that two major brands working together can accomplish great things. I do understand that not everybody will like this model, but if you are remotely interested in robotics and autonomous vehicles, this should appeal to you. more less

Its pretty nice model with a unique design and fine functions. I would not say it's the best autonomous wheel loader I can imagine, but still an interesting cooperation between Lego and Volvo. more less

When I opened the box and saw the un-numbered bags I was quite annoyed, as someone who lacks space, being able to build in stages is a great advantage. But to my surprise the element free-for-all added to the overall enjoyment of the build. I've not built many Technic sets, but this as been my favourite yet. In fact it's been one of my favourite sets to build this year. I highly recommend LEGO fans who may never venture beyond System sets, to just try giving one Technic set a go. more less

I didn't think I'd like this much given it's a bit unconventional but now I've built it, played with it, and understood the thinking behind its design, it's actually my favourite of the four summer Technic sets. It's not so huge that it takes ages to build and is difficult to display, it looks suitably futuristic and high-tech, and best of all it's packed with functionality that actually works. Pretty much the perfect Technic model. more less
