My grandson ages 6 and 8, enjoyed putting two of these together. They also loved the blacked out rims for the truck. It took them about a hour . It is a little complicated, the directions for the side bodies need to be clearer. There was some frustration, but after a re-build, success was finally accomplished. These boys are very skilled Lego vehicle builders. They have built several larger vehicle sets successfully, but these directions need to be revised for clarity!

This and the other pullbacks of this year are awesome and very playable once finished building them + my 5 year old kid managed building it by himself within an hour or so... BUT! Why is it so difficult to find the instructions for the mega truck which combines 42090&42091?please, I must have it!

The pull-back models confirm my suspicion that TLG is drastically looking at ways to optimize profit, instead of delivering cool sets. One can argue that kids will hardly notice the difference when they get a pull-back set, but only using a couple of panels and liftarms is totally different than the setup of the previous Getaway Truck. That one had a very cool design and cool details.

Overall, 42090 Getaway Truck is a fun little set with a pleasing build process. The final design looks suitably bulky and is distinctive enough when compared to 42091 Police Pursuit vehicle that you don't feel you are just building the same model in a different colour scheme. I would highly recommend purchasing both sets as they really come alive when racing them and, more often than not, crashing them together spectacularly.

These pull-back racers are a lot of fun. They are very robust and stand up to quite a lot of rough play. I am unconvinced that they represent great value for money. The static price point of $19.99 hides the fact that there are fewer parts in the box for these two sets as compared to the two similar themed models from three years earlier.
