the microfigures alone are too adorable. the structures are miniature and portable versions of what you see in larger sets: read: adorable. this set juxtaposes a training area on one side and a peaceful pond on the other. even though tiny, this set promises abundant play for youngsters and is a joy to simply own as an adult who loves cute things.
Fans of Disney princesses will love this.We really love LEGOs in this family. My daughter can spend hours playing with them. I really like them because she can be creative. Once she is done putting together the item she will often make her own creations.I love the quality of the LEGOs. I don't think we have ever had one break and we have many, many sets. I also like that she has something to play with once she makes it. Of course she has to be careful with it, but if she is, she can play with it.These make great gifts. I think my kid loves it the best of all. It is good for both boys and girls. It is also nice when the set goes with something like this one does. This was a good set. She was able to put it together on her own. It really kept her occupied for quite a while. I think it is also educational. It is good that she can follow the directions and also for hand-eye coordination.I would highly recommend this set.
There are two sides to every story, and that's definitely true in these two-sided construction sets. Disney Princess fans will have fun playing out different scenes from their favorite Disney movies. These sets are easy to build, inspire kids to imagine their own stories, and are totally portable for play on the go. We also like the cute look of the new micro-dolls. Those might be fun for collectors, too.
I'm happy with this set. I confess that I was predisposed to like the storybook adventure sets. I love books even more than LEGO, so anything that brings them together will immediately get my attention. Is this the perfect LEGO story book? Probably not. But if you consider size and the limitation of getting everything to fold up into the book when it closes, I think it does a good job.
For sets of this small size, that was a pretty long list of new and rare elements. And I haven't talked about the completely new parts yet!
My daughters (9, 7 and 4) repeatedly pull the sets out of the display cabinet to play with them. It triggers their fantasy to come up with all kind of adventures, despite the sets being small. This is the purpose of these sets. I, as an AFOL, am spoiled with large, complex sets that end up on a shelf. But not these sets. These are meant to be played with, as LEGO is, at its core. And these deliver on that. So they get a high passing grade from me.
