This buggy is so detailed and just super fun. Its a quick build, seems sturdy enough for a fair amount of play. My only complaint is that the companion set of this set is $30. Making this a total of $80 if you want to make it look as cool as the box art on the back. Other than that though this set is one of my favorites in the last couple years.
My 7 yr old grandson did most of the building, with some help from 10 yr old brother. They both loved it. It is quite sturdy and they can actually play with it. It does not easily fall apart like many Lego sets do when played with. I was a little concerned about buying this for a 7 yr old because some reviewers mentioned that it is a challenging build. Our guys needed no adult help so don't let comments on difficulty scare you away from this amazing set.
While the set looks good – it's mean and certainly draws your eye – it's not a cheap set. At $80, I was honestly expecting a little more. The thing is, I don't know what more I was expecting. It's a cool looking car, and can fit two minifigures in it, but as a stand alone set, it's left me a little bit wanting, and I can't explain why.

The buggy sports durable, rubber tires that allow for a smooth ride on all surfaces. These are perfect for the LEGO movie 2 fans in your home.
On the whole, I think this set is okay. The build isn't really that amazing – I like the upper truck body but I don't really care for the skeletal and oversized wheel undercarriage. The minifigures are not bad but you can get Emmet, Warrior Lucy, MetalBeard, and Star in smaller sets which, when bought together, are still cheaper than this set. The playability is not bad – I like the suspension wheels and the fact that the buggy can sit Emmet and Lucy side-by-side – but I think it could have been better, potentially with more suspension on all four wheels. The price is alright I think – a little bit expensive in the U.S. and Australia but not so bad in the UK and New Zealand.
This big, aggressive looking vehicle goes nicely with 70834 MetalBeard's Heavy Metal Motor Trike. They both have the same sense of being apocalyptic world vehicles whilst having the feel that they have genuinely been cobbled together by the film's characters. Those who like the Apocalypseburg aspect of the film should definitely consider buying this set.
