Really love this set. The storefront is minimalist in nature, but still encompassing enough to create a street scene - the added Newspaper machines were a fantastic added detail. Catwoman's motorcycle is just an oversized beast but has some pretty unique pieces that come in this neon purple color. Each minifig is fantastic and has a great level of detail, but I'm particularly taken by Batgirl's detail from her mask down to her boots. Great value for the purchase!
This set is the cheapest way to get Robin OR Batgirl at present. Let alone both of them. The overall price of this set on the European and Australian markets certainly reflects the relative value of the mini figures, compared to the similarly sized Joker Balloon escape. The level of detail on these figures, including dual molding of arms and legs, compared to the relatively monochromatic ubiquitous Batman figure. The motor cycle is a great improvement on the one seen in 6858: Catwoman Catcycle City Chase. The building is nice, adding context and action, but not especially inspiring.
The set is awesome and the minifigures are unbelievable. I like the new design for Catwoman and the molded utility belt and the detailed print of Batgirl is purely amazing! It's nice to have two outfits for Batgirl, the new 52 design and the Pink Power from the minifig series. Robin is a nice addition and as a suggestion you can combine the Gotham city cycle chase with this one and enjoy the ride!
70902 Catwoman Catcycle Chase was reviewed in issue 28 of Blocks Magazine.
Overall, The LEGO Batman Movie Catwoman Catcycle Chase (70902) is a fairly underwhelming set. The three minifigures are the main draw for me since Catwoman is exclusive to this set while this is the cheapest way to get Batgirl and Robin in their respective outfits.
Kids will enjoy recreating scenes from the LEGO Batman movie, and of course they'll love making up their own stories. This is classic good guy vs. bad guy play. The detailed elements of the set are great for one this size.
I really like the Minifigures in this set. Catwoman's motorbike is really well made too. The jewellery shop is a little bland though, and the set itself is really expensive. Definitely wait for a sale before you get this one, and make sure it is at least 20% off.
Of the sets I've reviewed thus far, this one is the one I find hardest to find reasons to purchase. I didn't like the Batcave because it didn't match the movie, but there were things to justify it on a sale. Here… I don't know.
The build of the shop is fairly underwhelming – it's functional enough for the purposes of creating a scene but doesn't really inspire. The Catcycle I think is great though, a sturdy and cool design that swooshes along brilliantly and has a couple fantastic unexpected touches in terms of the printed pieces. Overall, I think this is a decent set for the price point and I predict that it will prove to be popular with both girls and boys alike due to its inclusion of 2 brilliant female characters.
I'm a fan of this set, overall. The minifigures themselves are great enough to sell this set. In addition, the Catcycle looks good! Despite the apparent lack of play features, there is still a moving motorcycle, a collapsing street light, and a diamond store for Catwoman to rob, making this still a good play set. I feel the piece count could be higher (expand the shop maybe) and that at full price it's a little expensive, but overall it's still a good set.
Although the figures and the Catcycle are nice, the playability of the set is limited. I expected some more functions to play with. The jewelry shop is very simple and probably the set could be launched without it, and reduce the price a little bit. Anyway, my overall opinion is that it is a good set, taking in count the quality of the figures and the Catcycle.
