I love villains with gimmicks, so of course Two-Face is up there in the rankings. I wanted this set as soon as I saw it announced, and it didn't disappoint when I did get it. First of all, the Bat Hawk cycle is cool enough to have been its own set, probably worth $10 - 15. Much larger than the picture on the box seems. Speaking of which, the actual digger is also way bigger than it seems. I was pretty surprised. The build is a little weird at first, but somehow, they managed to split the whole thing PERFECTLY down the middle. Even the control panel in the cabin is split in half. Nice. Pros: Only set that comes with a regular Two-Face minifig (which is awesome, btw). Both vehicles are cool and bigger than they seem. 2 Gotham police minifigs. Cons: A lot of stickers, if that annoys you. Digger wheels don't roll that well on their own. I did buy this when it was on sale, not full price, but after getting it, it's probably worth the full price after all!
Two-Face's customised excavator was a delight to build and at times had me trying to figure where the process was going. This was a far from pedestrian build and kept me completely engaged from start to finish with nice use of different techniques. The completed vehicle is wonderfully done and the contrasting two sides of the vehicle work very well.
This set is really amazing. The design is beautiful and I was a little surprised at how cool the two sided dozer looked as none of the product images showed the other side. It fits Two-Face well. The sticker on the "good" side of the dozer which reads "Falcone's Legit Construction" was also a fun easter egg in the comic vein of the movies. Fun set to build and really sturdy. The Two-Face mini fig is excellent! Highly recommend this set for the Lego Batman fan!
Actually a better set than I thought. The wheel loader itself looks very nice with the two sides to it. There's lots of little detailing on both sides that makes it stand out. The inclusion of Two-Face has been long-awaited since the initial wave of TLBM sets from last year and he doesn't look too shabby either.
I think this is quite a nice set. It's worth pointing out that the box is quite interesting – not as large as some sets at this price but quite a bit thicker. I think the builds are good. The Bat Hawk looks sleek and cool, while Two-Face's excavator is pretty chunky and menacing. The minifigures are not bad either, though I think one more could've been included.
Two-Face is one of my favourite Batman villains and I have been excited to add this set to my collection based on his inclusion alone. However, his enormous excavator has proven to be the star of the set, with a tremendous level of detail and plenty of play value. The duality of the design has been rendered very effectively and I particularly love the reference to the Falcone crime syndicate on the good side of the vehicle.
