My grandsons really like to play with these Lego Bionicle Creatures. They are a bit scary, but the boys are all about playing "the good guys" and helping people. It arrived on time and was packaged well.
It is good thing to have! In general I like this series of Bionicles. And I hope that other Lego fans like it too!
On his own, Lewa is a mediocre set. I like the angled shoulders and the green and silver color scheme, but the weapons are a bit odd (especially with those useless spikes on his hands) and the jutting socket on his knees is terrible. The gear function on the waist works, but it's not quite as awe-inspiring as the shoulder gear designs of 2015.
Lewa isn't a bad figure. The custom limbs provide some interest to the build, the color scheme is well distributed, and the textures are decent with the obvious exception of the torso shell, though even that doesn't look entirely bad here. His weapons are simple but I've always like smaller, simpler sword-type weapons for Lewa and it's a nice change from the ridiculous axes. I like his new Miru, and in general the set does feel like Lewa, and I don't find myself wishing for as many changes with him as the other Toa. It's not to say he is flawless, but I do think he is one of the better Toa of the wave, and has grown to be my second favorite after Onua.
Lewa is in my opinion the best of the 2016 Toa (despite having the fewest pieces), and the only one who came out better than his 2015 incarnation. His proportions are lean but aggressive, using the Vorox/Skrall armor shell creatively and to great effect on his upper arms and lower legs, and despite the unconventional builds of these parts of his body, he poses quite well and has very tasteful proportions.
If you feel that your Bionicle collection has been lacking some sort of ninja warrior type character, then look no further than Lewa the Uniter of Jungle. Sure, he might not be one of the bigger Toa, but he's jam-packed full of style. The addition of Uxar really turns him from a fairly average set into a must-have.
Lewa's a blast of sheer novelty; if you were expecting these sets to be anything like last year's, you're in for a fun surprise. I do love CCBS, and it gets a lot of undeserved hate, but I can't deny that seeing quirky Technic designs for the limbs wasn't a nice throwback, and incorporates well besides. The generic weapons were a bit of an unsatisfying finish to the whole thing, but his build is inventive and new, and shows that the set designers aren't afraid to try both new and old things, which is what BIONICLE's reboot needs.
