As always LEGO nails it! Lego has created a game of skill with these sets as well as imaginative play. All of these sets are fun to build and display.
This set is lovely, it comes with a creative build, it perfectly conveys the scene off the duel in such a small space. And it's a great way to get figures for Rey and Kylo. It's really great to display with a ton of options on how to do it, I especially love how the hinge feature conveys the land splitting apart like in the movie, as well as the feature to knock down trees as if a lightsaber sliced into it. It reminds me a lot of a stage which I think is extremely clever. I highly recommend it to anyone who's a fan of these Characters or Star Wars in general.
75236 Duel on Starkiller Base is a strange set. It certainly looks better out of the box, and when split apart the set displays well – but as a whole the scaling feels odd and it's really hard to get over just how bad the BURP piece looks compared to the rest of the brick built elements. It has been a classic year for LEGO Star Wars sets but unfortunately this one is not representative of that.
Relatively few LEGO Star Wars sets are focused upon locations and this example seems particularly unusual given its small size. However, I am very pleased with 75236 Duel on Starkiller Base. It looks superb on display and includes some interesting functions, my favourite of which is undoubtedly the expanding crevice between Rey and Kylo Ren.
