My son loves anything Star Wars and anything LEGO, so he really loved this new Star Wars movie A Wing set! He's not familiar with the characters since the movie isn't out yet, but he liked putting the set together. He also liked the shooters - and they go far! The instructions, like other LEGO instructions, are super good. This set is what we've come to expect from LEGO: Excellent!
I love everything about this set. It's a great build of an iconic ship, it's sturdy, and the figures are great. I love that they included the exclusive Lt. Connix and another inclusion of Snap Wexley. Also I like when LEGO hides the missile launchers well so they don't detract from the look of the set, just like in this one.
I'm delighted with this latest A-Wing. It's a lovely-looking ship, and the first brick representation of the newer RZ-2 variant from the Sequel movies. It feels like part of the family alongside the two most recent 'slanty fin' sets, and I think the three together would make a nice shelf display (If I can find the stickers sheets for the other two).

LEGO Star Wars fans will like collecting the new character minifigures and building ships and scenes from the new movie. Without having seen the movie, we can only speculate as to what's happening in each build/scene, but their release before the movie definitely raises the excitement factor for fans who want to know what's going to happen. These will be great sets for LEGO and Star Wars fans who want to recreate scenes from the movie and make up their own adventures in a galaxy far, far away.
75248 Resistance A-wing Starfighter is a downgrade from the previous version of the A-Wing. Despite its cheaper price point though, there are too many compromises to make the set based on the worst Star Wars movie ever appealing enough to score it higher than a 3 out of 5 stars. It's worth getting with a nice discount, but easily passable if you're not a completist.
LEGO renditions of the A-wing Interceptor have improved quite dramatically during recent years and 75248 Resistance A-wing Starfighter continues this advancement. The model seems perfectly robust and replicates the streamlined design of its onscreen counterpart fairly effectively, only diverging from the source material around the nose which should appear marginally narrower.
Even though the interior structure and many details are dissimilar to the Rebel A-wing released in 2017, there are enough similarities between that version and this new 75248 Resistance A-wing that this latest version looks like a mere recolor next to the older version on a display shelf. Add to this the fact that one of the two minifigs is not new, and there's not a lot here for those who aren't looking to complete a full LEGO Star Wars collection.
While this set is a nice model to hold in a hand and swoosh around, the larger sets inspired by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, such as 75255 Yoda and 75256 Kylo Ren's Shuttle are where the real satisfaction is to be found. For a smaller build though, those who haven't picked up an A-wing in a while are likely to enjoy 75248 Resistance A-wing Starfighter.
